Initially a special education teacher, Jennifer worked with children in out-of-home care both in schools and in the care setting. Jennifer was a consultant, a vice principal, then a psychologist in specialist and mainstream schools for children with severe behaviour disorders. She was responsible for teaching, assessment, developing programs for children, liaising with mainstream schools and providing parenting programs.
Jennifer was the manager for some years of Kalparrin, a large early childhood intervention service for children with a range of disabilities. Whilst there, she successfully tendered for an autism-specific program, expanded the inclusion program into preschools, and developed an intensive transition program for children entering mainstream schools.
In more recent years, Jennifer has worked as a school counsellor in primary and secondary schools in NSW, assessing children and writing applications for funding. She became a senior clinical psychologist at CAMHS in the South-East region of NSW before developing a private practice for children and adults.
Since returning to Melbourne, Jennifer has worked with children in private practice providing therapy as well as cognitive and autism assessments.
She has worked at AHA as an evaluator for the PSD program since 2014 and also worked as a participant interviewer on AHA’s NDIS evaluation project.
