Rebecca has more than 20 years of health and education experience. Her qualifications include a Master of Public Health, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Graduate Certificate in Consumer Engagement. She is adept at identifying and distilling stakeholder needs through consultation with health professionals, peak bodies, advocacy organisations and community members.
At AHA, Rebecca has capitalised on her standout skills in stakeholder engagement through a range of multi-jurisdictional projects, spanning disability, mental health, aged care, veteran wellbeing, population-based screening, and medical training and workforce. She has also applied her analytical ability and writing skills to contribute to multiple high-quality reports.
Prior to AHA, Rebecca’s roles included:
- Head of Planning and Development at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In this role, she monitored the landscape and undertook desktop research to identify and understand immediate and emergent conditions likely to impact on surgical practice and patient outcomes. Working closely with the executive team, Rebecca led the college’s strategic planning and business planning, including COVID-19 reprioritisation.
- Head of Government Relations at Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving women’s health across the lifespan through education, research, clinical care and policy. A member of the senior leadership team, Rebecca helped to grow the organisation’s reputation as a leading authority on women’s health.
- Senior Policy Advisor at the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Rebecca advised on wide-ranging matters, with a view to ensuring good health outcomes for diverse communities across Australia and New Zealand. She also managed the development and ongoing review of binational professional standards, ensuring alignment with changes in knowledge, practice and technology.
